TopRank's Lee Odden Gets It!!

Following a conference call by PRWeb Founder David McInnis and Lee Odden commented about it in his Online Marketing Blog and it was obvious that he really gets where the industry is going.  His coverage of the Web 2.0 world of press release marketing speaks clearly about the awesome technologies that McInnis is adding to the press release news space and how they positively affect what we do.

If you haven't tuned into Lee's blog before I would recommend that you do.  Lee is highly visible on the conference scene.  Enjoy!!

Why RSS?

RSS is the for online publication what the telephone system was for verbal communication.  There is no shortage of ways to describe how the telephone has changed the way people live or for that matter has changed the entire world.

The ability to receive news right now from someone far away with eyes on the matter at had was powerful a powerful thing with the introduction of the telephone.  That same power is exponentially multiplied by RSS as someone who is on the scene where news is occurring can now share that information at an astonishing rate via blog syndication utilizing RSS to deliver that news to thousands of other locations and a myriad of desktop and mobile devices.

That news and information can also be sent with photographs and images.  Not to mention that the podcast verbal format of information can be distributed as well.

I would wager that RSS and the subsequent technologies that are built upon it will continue to change our lives in a way that is at least as amazing as the telephone.

PRWebPhotowire.com is the Hi Res Solution

If you haven't checked out PRWebPhotowire yet then you need to take a moment to do so.  This will allow you to post all of those hi resolution photos, logos and what not that simply does not fit the normal mix of hi speed distribution.

Why would I be talking about this in an RSS related blog?  You can still do your blog, podcast or whatever else that you want and link to these high resolution photos and images allowing those in the traditional publishing world to quickly obtain them.  Of course they will still learn about them through the power of "Social Media" and RSS.

This is just one more way that the new Web 2.0 world is coming together.  You now not only have the ability to receive current information from a variety of perspectives quickly and efficiently, but you can also receive information that may be essential in offline communication without the hassles of tracking it down in the offline way.

How cool is that?
